ICSI has completely restructured CSEET starting June 2026. The exam has moved from a 1-day, 200-mark, remote-proctored MCQ test to a 4-day, 400-mark, centre-based offline exam consisting of 3 subjective papers and 1 OMR-based paper. This is a significant shift, since earlier CSEET was conducted entirely from home using a remote proctoring system.
The January 2026 session, held on January 10, 2026, was the last CSEET exam conducted under the old pattern in remote-proctored mode. From June 2026 onwards, every CSEET session will follow the new offline, centre-based structure.
New CSEET Exam Structure (Effective June 2026)
Under the revised pattern, CSEET now consists of four papers, and each paper carries 100 marks, for a total of 400 marks. Three of these papers are subjective/descriptive in nature, while one paper — Business Laws and Management — remains an OMR-based objective paper.

Marking Scheme for the OMR Paper (Business Laws and Management)
The objective paper — Business Laws and Management — continues to follow an OMR-based format. The good news for students is that there is no negative marking in the CSEET OMR-based paper, meaning candidates can attempt every question without the fear of losing marks for a wrong answer.
For the MCQ-style questions in this section, each question carries either one or two marks, with four answer choices provided, out of which only one answer is correct. This risk-free format allows students to attempt the maximum number of questions confidently.
Marking Scheme for the Subjective Papers
The three newly introduced subjective papers require descriptive answers rather than simple option-based responses. Unlike the OMR paper, these papers test a student's ability to explain concepts, apply reasoning, and structure answers clearly — skills that will directly help them later in CS Executive as well.
Since these are new papers introduced only from June 2026, students preparing for this session should focus heavily on answer-writing practice, not just concept revision, because presentation and structuring of answers will now matter far more than under the old all-MCQ format.
Subjects Covered in CSEET 2026
CSEET tests a candidate's foundational knowledge across multiple areas relevant to the CS profession. The exam evaluates knowledge of current events, business communication, legal acumen, logical reasoning, and awareness of the business and economic environment. Broadly, the subjects/papers include:
